​Summer Sock Hop!

It’s summertime and it’s time to sizzle on the dance-floor! Put on your best sock hop attire and join the Silver Tones Swing Band for a swingin' good time over Memorial Day weekend. Guys and gals are invited to wear letter jackets, poodle skirts, saddle shoes, and other vintage looks, as the band plays your favorite swing hits from the 1940s, 50s, and beyond! The Vint Hill Community Center features a sprawling wooden dance-floor with plenty of room to spread out. The band will be playing two longs play sets, and there will be audience seating for those who wish to just enjoy the music and watch the dancing. The night will begin with a beginner dance lesson at 7 pm with professional dance instructor Valerie Pyle, and Val will lead us in The Stroll at the band break. Guests will be able to purchase light refreshments, and there will be a 50/50 raffle. General admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Seniors (65 and older) and students (with ID) are $10 at the door. Kids 5 and under are free. Advance discounted tickets are on sale now HERE, so let's go to the Hop!

The concert and museum admission are free and open to the public from 6 to 8 pm. Picnics are welcome but no glass containers or outside alcohol is permitted. Concessions will be available, and there is free parking onsite. Fairfax County Park Authority’s Summer Entertainment Series is back and the Silver Tones are honored to be a part of the 2022 lineup! These free performances and movies are possible thanks to a strong partnership between Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, volunteers, business sponsors, individual donors, and the Fairfax County Park Foundation. This performance will be held outdoors, so pack a picnic basket, umbrella, blankets, and lawn chairs to enjoy an evening of music with the Silver Tones. The ​Summer on the Green Concert Series is back and, this summer, is part of the #RollOut Warrenton on Main Street. Guests should bring their own chair and set up on Main Street to enjoy two sets of big band swing by the Silver Tones! Much of Main Street will be closed to traffic that day and patrons are welcome to peruse the beautiful downtown setting of historic Main Street Warrenton on foot. The concert series is free to the public and will take place in front of the Court House on Main Street Warrenton (corner of Court Street and Main Street). This concert is sponsored by the Allegro Community School for the Arts.

This dance is free and open to the public. Join the Silver Tones as they return for an evening under the stars in Manassas! Guests are encouraged to bring their dinner and chairs/blankets and dine on the lawn or in the covered pavilion. Some chairs and tables will be provided. The band and vocal trio will be performing three full sets of great swing music, and there will be plenty of space for dancing!

Get your dancing shoes on--and get ready to party to lively big band swing music and golden oldies! The Silver Tones Swing Band takes the stage at 6 pm on the first Friday in September. Come early and explore the beautiful historic Winchester downtown pedestrian mall, adjacent to the Taylor Pavilion. Enjoy displays and demonstrations by local artists and street performers, then stop in one of the many delicious eateries and pick up a dinner and beverage to enjoy during the concert. This event is completely free to the public and made possible by Old Town Winchester’s Main Street Committee. Don't forget your blanket or chair!

The band will be playing two longs play sets, and there will be audience seating for those who wish to just enjoy the music and watch the dancing. There will be a beginner dance lesson at 7 pm with professional dance instructor Valerie Pyle, to get all the gals and ghouls ready to swing! Costumes are encouraged but not required for attendance, but there will be a prize for best costume, so get creative! General admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Seniors (65 and older) and students (with ID) are $10 at the door. Kids 5 and under are free. Check back for advance discounted tickets!

The Silver Tones Swing Band is excited to bring audiences a holiday dance to kick off the season right! The band, Silver Belles vocal trio, Wendy Marie, and Gene Bates will bring you some of your holiday favorites plus favorite big band swing hits. The Marshall Community Center features a huge dance-floor with plenty of room to swing. The band will be playing two long play sets, and there will be audience seating for those who wish to just enjoy the music and watch the dancing. There will be a beginner swing dance lesson with world-class swing instructor Ewa Burak at 7 pm, to get you all "In the Mood" to dance! General admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Seniors (65 and older) and students (with ID) are $10 at the door. Kids 5 and under are free. Check back for advance tickets, and let's get merry with big band swing!
