Annual Sweetheart Swing Dance

Calling all sweethearts and lovers of big band swing! Come out and join the Silver Tones Swing Band, Wendy Marie, Gene Bates, and the Silver Belles to celebrate L-O-V-E in style! The band will be playing two long play sets, and there will be audience seating for those who wish to just enjoy the music and watch the dancing. There will be a beginner dance lesson at 6:30 pm, to get everyone ready to swing to the big band sound of the Silver Tones! Make a free song dedication to someone special and have your dedication read in front of the audience. The dance surface at the Warrenton Community Center is a polished tile floor. Admission is just $19.50 in advance (limited advance tickets available) and $25 at the door. All students and seniors (65+) are $15 at the door. Children 5 and under are free. The Silver Tones Swing Band is honored to be a part of this year's lineup of amazing musicians in the 2024-2025 season of Stage Alive! The Stage Alive Community Concert Association is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been presenting internationally acclaimed artists to the community since 1970. Stage Alive sponsors six concerts each season between September and May. The Association serves the surrounding counties of Culpeper, Fauquier, Louisa, Madison, Orange, Rappahannock, and Spotsylvania. Let the good times roll! Join the 18-piece Silver Tones Swing Band for this festive Mardi Gras celebration with big band swing and Dixieland jazz! The Silver Tones Swing Band will be performing two longs sets starting at 7:00 pm, and they will be joined by the Dixie Tones Dixieland Band, who will roar into town with great Dixieland jazz! Join the Charleston dance lesson at the band break and enjoy a complimentary Mardi Gras dessert to celebrate in traditional New Orleans style. Dance instructor Valerie Pyle will be on the floor at the break to show everyone the vintage moves to The Charleston. Dress to impress in 1920s style, to add to the fun and elegance of the evening. Mardi Gras beads will be provided with admission. The dance-floor at the Warrenton United Methodist Church's Fellowship Hall is polished tile. There is free parking behind the church, and the venue is easy to find, located off of West Lee Highway in Warrenton.
